Service Projects
Zontians in Myrtle Beach are focused on working with local organizations to
provide services to women and girls in our community.
Eastern Carolinas Coalition Against Human Trafficking (ECCAHT)
was formed to eradicate human trafficking in the coastal Carolinas. Zonta Club
of Myrtle Beach was instrumental in establishing the coalition. Their work with
government, law enforcement, media, social, civic and faith-based organizations,
and others addresses all aspects of this horrific crime against humanity.
Their goal is to attack human trafficking from all angles. ECCAHT hosts training
for law enforcement, community forums, public awareness projects, and advocates
for stronger anti-trafficking policy through connecting diverse networks of
people to create a coalition of efforts to eradicate human trafficking.
Their efforts are directed towards:
1. Outreach to the community through public awareness and education;
2. Provide necessary services and goods to victims of human trafficking; and
3. Advocacy for new and stronger legislation at the state and national level.
